Formnext 2020, Frankfurt.

The exhibition industry worldwide has been badly hit this year because of the corona pandemic. With cancellations and postponements being the order of the day, especially at the last moment, there is an overall sense of gloom and despair floating around. Whether you are an exhibitor or a service provider at the trade fairs, the feeling of uncertainty is over bearing. No one knows what direction we are moving in, and till when will this last. With travel restrictions around the world, it is not enough that one country or one region has opened up. Unless the whole world open up, international trade shows and exhibitions will never be a success. However, in these trying times, there are some fairs that are offering a faint glimmer of hope, by promising to stay afloat. Whether they will finally be held or not, is yet to be seen, and depends on a number of factors, most of which are not in the hands of the organizers. But they do offer a tiny glimmer of hope, if nothing else.

One of the fairs that are as yet holding up, is the Formnext 2020, to be held in Frankfurt, Germany. Scheduled to be held from the 10th till the 13th of November 2020, in the Messe Frankfurt fairgrounds, the Formnext is organized by Mesago, and is the leading trade fair for the additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing. It is not just another trade fair, but promises to be the leading international meeting point for next generation intelligent industrial production. The website of the fair is full of optimism about the future. In fact, it has named this year’s edition as the C-Edition or the Corona Edition!

Studio One has been building at the Formnext since the last two editions of the fair. 2018 marked our debut at the fair, where we had built for Imaginarium Rapid, a Mumbai based leading name in 3D printing and advanced manufacturing technology. The all white design was developed by the Imaginarium design team, and we were handed over the responsibility to make it happen. We did the best we could, and the result was an impeccable stand that stood out for its bold straight lines, the richness of its pure white color and the elegance of simplicity in its overall design. The Formnext was followed by the Inhorgenta in Munich in February 2019. The design ethos remained the same. The all white color scheme and the simplicity of design was carried forward, and the results were once again seen to be believed. Then came the Formnext 2019 in Frankfurt. And again, the decision makers at Imaginarium put their faith and their trust in Studio One Designs Pvt. Ltd. The results once again were outstanding, with the white color scheme and the simple design being further evolved.
